GARDEN ROUTE (MULTI-DAY)

The Garden Route is a spectacular 300-kilometre stretch along South Africa’s south-eastern coastline, extending from Witsand in the Western Cape to the Tsitsikamma Storms River on the edge of the Eastern Cape.

Experience the breathtaking sights of Cape Town, journey along the iconic Garden Route and encounter incredible wildlife on this unforgettable adventure.

Itinerary

Cape Town to Oudtshoorn

  • Depart from Cape Town and travel along Route 62 making your way to Barrydale (08h00 – 11h00).
  • Stop for brunch and to stretch (11h00 – 12h00, own account).
  • Continue to Oudtshoorn for an Ostrich Safari (12h00 – 14h00, included).
  • Head to your accommodation in the late afternoon before enjoying dinner (included).
Oudtshoorn to Knysna

  • Depart from your Hotel to enjoy a morning tour of the Cango Caves, one of the world’s great natural wonders (09h00 – 11h00, included).
  • Visit Rust en Vrede Waterfall (11h00 – 12h30, optional, time permitting).
  • Commence to Knysna and stop for lunch along the way (12h30 – 15h00, own account).
  • Check into Hotel to unpack luggage and freshen up (15h00 – 16h30, included).
  • Enjoy some leisure time and dinner at the Knysna Waterfront (16h30 – 17h45, own account).
  • Enjoy the John Benn Sunset Cruise (18h00 – 19h30, included).
  • Return to accommodation
Knysna to Tsitsikamma

  • After breakfast visit the Knysna Elephant Park and rescue facility where guests can closely interact with elephants in their natural habitats. Children under 5 free. (08h30 -09h30, included).
  • Head to Tsitsikamma
  • Select 3 activities below to enjoy: (10h00 – 13h00, included).

1. Zipline, zip-lining from one platform to another along a steel cable suspended up to 30 meters above the forest floor.

*Children of 5 – 7 years pay less, includes water, guide, equipment and certificate, Max 8 per group.

2. Segway Tour (1 hour guided) in the famous Indigenous Forest, A Segway is a 2-wheeled, self-balancing, battery-powered, green personal transporter. Totally fun, addictive and the perfect family adventure!

3. Bungy Jump, Africa’s highest bridge, 216-meter plunge off the legendary Bloukrans Bridge, 100% safety record, 6 Guinness World Record. All clients are requested to arrive on site one hour prior to the booked jump time.

Includes: Safety briefing and the jump, children 14 years and older. All safety equipment will be supplied.

Excludes: Photo and Video footage.

4. Skywalk (1 hour tour), Africa’s only skywalk, Africa’s highest bridge, 216 meter hangout zone, mind-boggling views, family friendly.

Includes: All safety equipment and safety briefing, children 12 years and older.

Visit Monkeyland, the world’s first free roaming multi species primate sanctuary. Its mission is to educate and foster greater understanding of our primate cousins and the threats and challenges they are facing.

Visit Jukani, Shelter for leopards, jaguars, Bengal tigers & other big cats, with a no-touch, no-breed policy. An animal shelter in South Africa where rescued big cats feel at home, with the focus on creating widespread awareness about the plight of large predators in captivity, in South Africa and all over the world.

Visit the Birds of Eden, the world’s largest free flight aviary and bird sanctuary. The mesh dome of the sanctuary was built over 2.3 hectares of indigenous forest and is up to 55 metres above ground level. Birds of Eden’s unique two hectare dome (the world’s largest) spans over a gorge of indigenous forest. Currently it is home to over 3,500 birds from over 220 species, with the main focus being African birds.

Visits to Birds of Eden are usually self-guided, however guided walks are offered on request.

  • Head to one of the country’s top Italian restaurant for dinner. With the perfect ocean view, here you will enjoy some of the freshest fish, pizza and pasta cooked to perfection and many other beautiful Italian dishes (18h00 – 19h00, own account).

Knysna to Cape Town

  • Head to the Garden Route Game Lodge to enjoy a thrilling game drive in an open 4×4 with an experienced game ranger who will bring you sightings of lion, elephant, white rhino, buffalo and cheetah (08h00 – 10h00, included).
  • Day Visitor game drives depart daily at 11h00.
  • Complete your day visit with a relaxing lunch on the wooden deck of the stunning “Serengeti Restaurant” which looks out over the game reserve (13h00 – 14h00, own account).
  • Continue our scenic route back to Cape Town to your Hotel / drop-off point (14h00 – 18h00).
